He got acute laminitis by toxins getting into his blood post surgory. It came on unbelievably quickly at 5am this morning. He had it in all four feet so was in incredible pain. He couldn't move what so ever, even on morphine. The vet said he was the worest case he'd seen in a very long time and it would be a welfair case not to let him go. We said goodbye ealier this afternoon. If he hadn't had this compilcation he would of been on and impressive road to recovery. His guts were now working normaly only three days post surgory after an opiration removing 4m of his small instetine.... The grass sickness results were negitive too.
Please spare a thought for this special gentleman the fought with all his might till the end. Dermot was just six years old and only been enjoying love to the full in last few months. He has never let me down and above all he really has looked after me. A horse worth his wieght in gold.
