Do you have any other parameters as this is quite a broad subject?

My horse is an alfa mare, she would try and dominate me if i didnt keep reinforcing that i was herd leader. She is very smart, and can work out problems, but can also be quite nervy.

A bit of a friendly thug who is best kept stimulated or else his mind starts to wander and invariably he creates his own amusement, but he has an absolute heart of gold. :D

my horse is a 15hh dales mare. 11 year old. extremaly affectionate a proper pet. needs a confident leader as she is a very people person. bombproof but when left in the stable ( she hates the stable ) goes in a mood with everybody and decides to be very cheeky whilst riding her. she has such a personality and everybody falls in love with her

An ex grade A show jumper of almost 20, G is quite the washed up celebrity (you know the type that would go on celeb big brother or similar!). has an air of 'don't you know who I am?!' but is never challenged for top spot in the field by his younger, fitter fieldmates.
Sees humans in the most part as there solely to service his every need.

Will sometimes succumb to a sneaky affectionate cuddle when he thinks no one is looking ;)

should probably have been born human as has the personality to equal, has the mental age of a young child, when faced with something new or when he gets bored; cue destroy all the rugs, feedbowls and anything within reach. has his brain in his stomach and is always sleeping, proper people pony and loves attention!

I would be nervy if someone was trying to eat my ears  it's lucky Dee has such tiny little...oh....;)

Big pony- 23yr old connie x tb. Very much an alpha mare, rules every herd she's been in, excellent with youngstock & children. Very genuine & well behaved, but likes to be asked, not told. Takes the mick with nervous adults but looks after nervous kids, very maternal. Very self assured & full of her own self importance, almost looks down her nose at stuff. Great temperament & always behaves well, but not affectionate with anyone else. Very intelligent & determined in that whatever she does, she does 100%.
Small pony- 11.1 (think mini x nf) rising 5. Personifies everything that puts people off mares. Will never do anything she's told, must be asked. Is a suprisingly safe but fun & lively pony for a confident 7 yr old. Has to battle for dominance with every new person or horse she meets, & always on the lookout for a weak spot. Very perceptive to body language, even a stranger lunging her she views as a challenge & acts accordingly. But will do anything for you once accepted. Only truly submissive to big pony, other horses she'll move but not at all submissive, will go back & bite & zoom off.

My mare is a work horse, tack me up, ride me, then let me get on with grazing. She does not like cuddles, but will stand all day being groomed. Is not the boss of the field, happily likes someone else to take that responsibility. She is far too polite to say no to anything, a real servant.

A big cheeky boy a bit like a large dog. Begs for treats! Likes to cause mischief. He is also very nosey :) If he is bored he will find something to amuse himself. When on box rest he repeatedly flooded his stable by holding his auto drinker on constantly. He has a fun personality and makes me laugh!

My mare is very dominant with other horses. She is submissive with people though, and has a very fine threshold when it comes to disciplining her. Too little and she doesn't listen, but slightly too much and she reacts badly.

Very insecure taken out of her comfort zone when no other horses are with her - and suffers bad separation anxiety when alone in the field. This doesn't affect her in the stable though.

Very affection with people, and highly intelligent. She responds if you laugh at things she does by doing them more and more, and she will also play 'chase' with you in the field when she feels like it!!

Fairly highly strung and spooky, but can be lazy when ridden also - all depends on what mood she is in and the weather.

She also has an obsession with wheelbarrows and likes to put her legs in it and stand there for ages!

Chloe is 15hh black 13 year old, we think Anglo Arab X mare.

She's quite opinionated and a bit of a diva, however if you get her to come round to your way of thinking she'll try her heart out for you. :)

My girly is a 15hand welsh sec d and is a typical welsh - has her own mind! Took a long long time for her to trust me and to have any bond. The bond is now strong. She is never ever nasty. She is very clever and if she doesnt want to do something, she will work out how to get out of it! She is highly voice commandable, more like a dog, so when riding, i use my voice as my main aid as she has a very sensative mouth and sides. Once she bonds though, she gets quite bad seperation anxiety when left. This is if she bonds with a person or horse. She is very nosey and has dragged me into peoples gardens before because she wanted to look at something! She is brave - when ridden out, she can not be the follower, must be the leader.

My Appaloosa x Gelding - He is a very cheeky chappy with a big personality. He loves attention and is very food orientated!! He is playful in the field, and is usually either boss or quite far up in the pecking order. He is a bit possessive around me and gets jealous easily!! He has a super attitude to his work most of the time but can be stubborn at times, and you definitely can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do - you have to ask him and then he will persevere. He is very sensitive and spooky at times (much more like a Thoroughbred) but we have a good partnership and because of this he tries his heart out for me. :)

^^Snap

I always think Roo is more like one of my cats. Humans are staff, no present is too much, and no attention is sufficient. You can ride him but only if you are there to enable him to take centre stage and show off to anyone watching. All other horses are required to bow down and scrape, and are not allowed near his "things" and staff. Cuddles are there purely to keep the staff happy and are in no way something he would admit to enjoying or seeking. Visitors to the yard are there simply to bask in his glorious presence!

The littl'un has some kind of mental issues and seems to think shes a foal. This isn't helped by the fact my other mare is a ex broodmare so is very maternal.
She has bad seperation anxiety and will physically hurt herself to get to another horse. She prances and snorts and bucks and is possessive of my other mare. She won't back down from a fight either.
But when lunging/learning new things she commits herself 100% and has a real determination to get things right :)
It's a shame I didn't have her from a foal because maybe then she wouldn't have half the problems she does now!

My other mare is a real standing on her own hooves happy to look after herself horse. She doesn't need or want attention and acts like any work is annoying her as she doesn't want to do it. She can be very sweet occasionally but she sees her job as looking after her "foal" (my other horse) and she would be quite happy just to be left to do that :)

Montyforever- very interesting. My 2 are very similar, big pony has never foaled, but has been kept with broodmares & been a successful nanny before. Little one was weaned at 3 months & kept completely alone till a yearling. Being tiny & foal like she was immediately adopted. But I've found the opposite, i'm not sure she would have done half so well without a foster mum. Only issues left are that she flips in a field alone & I personally think her dominance stems from her first year looking out for herself.

19 y/old cob gelding - very independent, disinterested in other horses, confident, calm, relaxed in pretty much every situation (unless there's a jump involved!), doesn't groom other horses or indulge in unnecessary interactions, will only interact with other horses if necessary to gain access to food. Submissive in a disinterested sort of way.

5 y/od highland gelding - much more "normal" - stresses by himself, much less confident without human / equine company, more excitable and energetic, engages in "normal" grooming and playing interactions, grumpy sod around food, more dominant in herd environment.

2 y/old highand gelding - ridiculously self confident and unphased - happy to be left entirely alone in field / stable, not scared on anything, loves human attention, engages in "normal" equine interactions (grooming/playing), submissive in herd, but very independent.

Speshul and yellow :D

Bottom of any herd no matter what he is out with but playful if he finds a friend who he can trust but isnt that hot on social skills. Doesnt mind being alone or his friends leaving him if he is settled in his yard (not when he has recently moved). Stubborn and strong willed when he wants to be but nervy and under confident about other things which can lead to him getting in a right tizz. Really couldnt care if he pleases you or upsets you and would rather you kept fuss and cuddles to a minimum unless you have polos.

A very lively rising 6 year old. Bounces everywhere. Quirky and nervy so needs a confident rider as can take the P quite a bit. Although he has some days where he is a complete saint and schools/hacks beautifully without one of his "moments". Needs constant stimulation as get bored very easily and then just becomes annoying. In the field he's the partner in crime to the leader, can be very use full at terrorising newcomers or tearing down electric fencing. Wouldn't have him any other way :D
