My yard is near to an air field and becasue of this we are not allowed flood lights for the menage. However someone mentioned about getting down lighters fitted instead to the fence posts. i have done a search and cannot find anything. Does anyone no where I can get hold of such lighting. I am desperate to find some. Any help is greatly appreciated. thank you.

we are next to an army barracks and never have issues with any of our outside lighting?
also, where i used to be stabled, was by an airport and the runway was over the road, as a result there was veryyyy low flying aircrafts, and all of the yards just had the normall lights?
Are you sure you cannot use the standard outdoor lights?

IF.... it's a civilian air field (doesn't belong to any armed services)..... make contact...pref in person with the control tower operators...
All you need to do is ask the Airfield supervisor and they will advise you on the type of lighting permissible.

Normally if it's just a small private aircraft field... restrictions do not apply...however if it's under CAA authority and has a hard standing runway or landing strip with lighting.... restrictions will apply!

As for down lighting.... normally they have to be at a greater height to be effective, depending on your location in proximity to the air field, the height of installation could be restricted....

The answer lies in the Airfield Supervisors knowledge!!
Importantly.....if they come over to assess your yard, be nice.. they can be very useful people to know... especially if they happen to have some "spare lights"!!

We have lights at fence hight to get round planning restrictions. They are OK for flatwork but not jumping.

Keith from KLH arenas installed them. He only works ooop North (ish) now though.
