That will be heartbroken pair of children. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01/14/higher-treween-horse-rider-injured-hit-and-run/ An eight-year-old horse rider has been injured, and her horse put down, after an alleged hit-and-run. Christopher Rogers, 61, from Bolventor, near Launceston...
A clients pony was hit and killed last night. Driver totalled his car. Pony escaped the field and wandered down a country lane near their house. He hit her so hard he sent her flying and amputated a leg (she was a solid cob type). I really wish there were slower speed limits on these country roads, especially through semi-rural residential areas. I feel that all drivers should take mandatory tests on passing horses/animals safely.
I live in a very urban area. There is a dual carriageway called ‘The Black Country Route’ and most of the dual carriageway is 40mph. Our rational is they are trying to catch drivers out as to the reason it’s a 40mph. There is a road where my livery yard is- like many of you, in a rural ‘countryside’ area. And it’s 60mph . Absolutley not safe even if no horses. Just ridiculous limit. But people try. Why? Why do we think these ridiculous high limits are acceptable on these roads? Puzzles me and my husband who is a car freak. He does not get it either. Know what I hope this person gets. But nope. It’s innocent peoples car insurance who will increase not this fool.
