Hi,

A friend of mine has a lovely stallion, imported over from Spain as a yearling (now 4) he has a spanish chip and she was told he is part bred warmblood. He must have breeding somewhere, and we want to trace him back. Any ideas?

Chip number is 941000002836919

He's a palomino, about 15hh , 4yrs and stunning. She's been putting him to her own connie mares and has had some stunning foals this year, but he may be coming to me to do a bit with/ get a record but to jump him we need his breeding.

Can anyone help!!!

It could be a Spanish microchip - I have one starting 9810, these microchips are issued by ANNCE, the governing body for PREs, however, they would not have issued him with one unless he was a purebred PRE or a Hispano.

I may be worth contacting Mary McBryde at BAPSH, her contact details are on the website www.bapsh.co.uk

9410 can be a Spanish microchip, my mare has one and was registered with R.A.I.A in Andalucia in Spain. I've posted more on your post in new lounge.

Hi wow he sounds a lovely chap. I have lived in spain for the last four years and all so purchased a cross bred. I am now back in the UK. The rules are that if the horse has to travel he has to be microchiped. But it only goes on his identity. How big what markings etc. If the old owner when asked what breed, just said cross then that is all the infomation that will be provided on the paper work.
So trying to trace his breeding through that is nearly nill. What i would suggest is trying to speak with the old owners who bred him. Or maybe a blood test (very exspensive) good luck.

If we can get hold of old owners address of chip then we will go down the blood test route! Thats the plan, he came with no paper work but was chipped.
