Deterrent for dogs?

Our dog keeps emptying bins - any ideas of a bin deterrent?

Pepper, good old fashioned pepper. Makes the dog sneeze, dog doesnt like and remembers it so keeps away.
Cheap and not cruel or painful. Sorted

Our guys didn't mind the pepper. Weird creatures

We used screw on lidded barrels (you can get them small to go in corners or kitchen units). Once they realised they couldn't actually get in, after a while they didn't bother again - even when we changed back to a normal bin. You can get clip on and push on lids too.

I get them from DV fuels up in north wales. Also great for feedbins as the lids have an internal seal which keeps the food dry. All ex - food grade from I think 30 litres all the way up to 200 litres. Even do the big 1000 litre square ones for water storgae - mail order too.
