Oh my word, everyone, thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts and messages, didn't expect all that and is is a great help. I'm most sad for all the agony the poor mare went through, I've seen colics before but not as bad as that, and to see her degenerate so quickly was truly soul destroying.

I am very sorry for your loss, we also lost a mare this weekend at the livery yard I keep my horses at under harrowing circumstances. You did everything you could to try and help your daughters mare with the pain and were there for her when she needed you most. It is devasting seeing them like that are almost feeling helpless but you did all the right things. Sending you and your daughter hugs. xx

I've seen colics before but not as bad as that, and to see her degenerate so quickly was truly soul destroying.

We lost my daughters 7yo in Nov completely out of the blue to a sudden, severe colic , so total understand your shock. Took us both quite a while to come to terms with her going, though we will never get over it. We found the messages on here a great comfort and made us feel less 'alone'.
