Hi
My horse has just been diagnosed (sp!?!) with arthritis. I am looking for supplements to help make things comfortable for him. I have heard great things about Cortaflex and have noticed that they have now also started making an extra strength version, so i am keen to try this. But also have heard that devils claw is also good. Which would you recommend? Or can you feed them both together?
Thanks

My boy's got very very mild arthritis, i feed him on (added to his feed) devil's relief vegtable oil and garlic - the oil's help with his bones and the devil's relief is like a cooling pain killer almost, he still happily hacks and i still school him. My friend has a yard of hunters, and she still hunts some of them with arthritis but she adds superflex to there feeds.

I supose you can feed both together, it just depends on how much you can afford!

Hi, I would really recommend cortaflex having seen a difference in my horse after 3 days on it, unfortunately the liquid was much more effective than the powder and more expensive! I would only try one product at a time otherwise you won't know which is doing any good, Synequin is also very effective on some horses and relatively cheap for maintenance although costly for the initial loading dose.

Get a Cosequin prescription through your vets (you can then buy it online for about half the price

My boy was unsound for months and I tried all sorts but he is 100% on Cosequin- it is superb!

I tried Devils Claw on my boy and it didn't make any difference at all, so tried Cortaflex, and wow what a difference, it has made a 27 year old canter around the paddock like a 4 year old, fantastic stuff and when you work out the price per day it isn't that expensive.
