Just wondering what peoples opinions on devoucoux was, looks like lovely kit but i cant help thinking the prices for their stuff is extortionate, or does it really have to be seen to be believed in terms of quality? I've seen various brands come out with fine quality leather before but sometimes looking at it it seems to be the leather is so fine and soft it wouldnt actually be up to any decent amount of use? Just wondering as I am in the process of saving up for a new bridle and breastplate and wanted to invest in something decent!

Gorgeous gorgeous stuff, but you are paying a premium for the name am afraid. There are other makes who make just as nice stuff for not as much.

Well what im looking for is a decent breatplate/breastgirth combo and a nice bridle which will suit a fairly fine tb. Not bothered if its flash or cavesson although im quite happy to get a flash and not use the strap but have it there for the future should it be required. I do believe olney sell prestiges version of the kolibri breastplare, how do these compare to the real deal? Apart from not having 'green elastic' lol

Havent seen the prestige version, but TBH not always that convinced by their leather work. Jefferies have brought out a version of the breastplate, and I have been told Amerigo are bringing one out too.... Amerirgo leatherwork is lovely and very high quality. I have heard the breastplate will be not too much over £100.....

It is hand made in france - which is why it is expensive - and to be honest things like the fluffy breastplate are around the same price as similar products by brands like Amerigo etc. I am saving for an event saddle - they are beautifully made and the leather is fantastic!! I would have everything Devoucoux if I could!!!

There is a £60 difference in the jefferies version, and I have been told the amerigo breastplate wil retail at not much more than £100. Thats quite a big difference

They are beautifully made, I agree, but I know someone that brought the breastplates before the copies came out and agree that you do pay for the name to some extent.
