Dexter Update

I posted a few weeks to guess the breed of Dexter our foster pup, he is still with us, waiting for the perfect home, but has changed very dramatically over the past few weeks. We think he is about 20 weeks now, we've had him since the start of January. He is the height of our smallest collie (about 17") at the moment, I don't think he's going to be big, perhaps large collie size, but then again we could have a growth spurt on it's way as he could have been stunted by the malnutrition when much younger.

About two weeks ago his ears tried to stand up for a few days...

Then they gave up and are now floppy ears..

Hoping these photos work, any guesses on breed would be much appreciated.
 
Still think working line GSD cross if not a poor example (close your ears Dexter!!) of a purebred. There may be Malinois in there.
As mentioned before, I know a couple of grey workingline GSDs with large white flashes on their chests (and toes), born to a grey mother and an all black father.

He has very neat little feet!!

If you're hanging onto him he could make a cracking agility dog.
 
He's so settled here that we're considering hanging on to him, Tyler, my boy collie, just adores him (even when Dexter uses his tail as a tug toy). The girls are quite keen on him too. Need to get him out meeting some more small dogs, he's terrified :o. He is already forming a lovely heel position for obedience, has lots of little tricks and we're starting directional commands, the recall and waits are coming along nicely too :D. I want to get his hips checked out before I even think about agility though, just in case the calcium deficiency has affected him, and wouldn't risk it if vet not 100% happy..

He's still a great boy, and if he's not staying with us I do want him to go to a working home of some sort, I can see him being a cracker at obedience though - he's a lovely dog to work with and I think he'll have quite flashy heelwork.

I should add that for a 5 month old baby he is incredibly driven and loves his work, pick up a tennis ball and he offers every behaviour he knows, he loves his work already and everything is being kept very fun!
