My mother has just spent the evening claiming that Tink has diabetes... she is "100% sure" and every time the poor dog drinks.. "Look!! See, see..told you!"

Now she's made me slightly paranoid that she'll be really ill/untreatable as I've not taken her to the vet :o

Yes, she is drinking more than usual, and has been for the past few weeks. However before this I would rarely see her drink and she would prefer to drink skanky water from outside than from her bowl. She is now drinking, what I would call, a normal amount!

She isn't urinating any more than usual...

She is still as active as usual, and in fact took herself and friends off for a 36 hour hunt when we were at home for the hols

No weightgain or anything lately either...

Any more symptoms?

Please tell my mother she's a twit! :o

She's been spending more time in the living room (which is warmer) I guess.
Poor dog can't do anything without being scrutinised by the woman. She choked/coughed the other week and that was a sign she has heart disease.

I lost a much beloved dog to Diabetes very suddenly.

For your peace of mind I suggest you get a simple blood test, that should clear things up either way.
