Diagnosis help plz!

So what do people think my horse had been doing to itself. Between his front legs, he has scabs. Now I know they are not from not brushing him off properlly, because I am really vigilant, as he has funny skin anyway. I think it is either:
Mud fever,
Catching himself jumping (but quite far forward),
Or been kicking him self when pawing the ground etc
Or some fungal thing (He is turned out with lots of poor ponies.)

Any ideas? Any other ideas? Anyone elses horse have this?

Its hard to tell with not seeing them

However if they are soft scabs that fall off with the hair then it sounds like mud fever
confused.gif

Would agree. Horse I loaned over the summer had these a while ago - although all gone now following treatment.

my mare has this just between her shoulders but i have had vet out and it was confiirmed that is was mud fever. just try and keep it dry if it wears a rug possibly get an antirub vest to put under the rug to keep it dry but make sure it doesnt get wet. in my case i have tried everything to get rid but to no avail so just see wat works best for u!
