Did anyone on here bother to get planning permission to put down road sub-base in a field gateway? Or did you just do it anyway and if so did the planners find out and make you move them?
Did anyone get planning permission to put down road scalpings?

We just put the planings down, and didn't even consider asking re planning. Have been above board and squeaky clean with everything else, though.

I have granite chips in a gateway, it didn't occur to me that I would need permission, the grass has grown over them now and made a grassy stable base so I don't think they would be interested now anyway
A friend put down a track across a field though without permission and got found out, they made her take it up - that was a lot more than a gateways worth though

I'm in the peak park, planning restrictions are tight, and even I can put scalpings in a gateway. Do you mean just a gateway? You can't build a track. I'd love to, but I can't.

yes I agree, I very much doubt putting scalpings in a gateway would get anyone in to trouble

Ah thats different, I think its best to phone and ask. Promise to use something in keeping with any existing tracks/roads and they will look on it more favourably - you may have to pay out for something other than scalpings though

Ah, ok, I didn't ask for pp for that, but put down limestone for drainage and covered that with woodchip.
