CC, thinking about it, i haven't received one for ages. i know its not out every month and the last thing i received was the wretched country club thing- what is going on i wonder? the best magazine i have now is "Hounds"more informative than HandH even which these days only covers a couple of pages on hunting. thanks for the info.

I will watch my bank statement with interest to see if the money is returned to me.

They have been saying the next issue will be due soon - first it was after the Gamefair, then they were waiting for Exmoor hunt reports and now I guess it will be Opening Meet. Quite frankly I have stopped believing their bullshit.

Yes!!! But from a different persepctive.......as secretary of the EFUH I agreed to send out their flyers, in return for £5 for each subscription they received from the EFUH....they sent a cheque, which bounced, and it has taken me 6 months to get a replacement. Lots of strongly worded emails, and some shirty letters- cheque finally arrived this week, just alone in an envelope! Not even a comp slip....so rude!

Wonder if this one will bounce.....!!

That is interesting, I subscribed after we were given leaflets at a hunt supper, wonder if my chosen pack ever got the promised monies.

I have had lots of chippy e-mails from the Editor in Chief. The thing is they have now compounded their poor track record and I doubt any hunting folk will be up for the hassle of third time lucky on their subscriptions.

Our huntsman bought the first subscription and hunting directory. Never received more than the back issues.

Julie Spencer IS Hunting Magazine - and as far as I'm aware she's ALWAYS been at the helm (of the sinking ship.) We got stung once - never again!

according to Julie Spencer, the "owners" of hunting ilustrated were going to finish it but she and other founder members have revived it. it would have been better if we had been all told the truth in the first place, instead of all manner of excuses regarding the lack of publications!!

MMMmm ... as I recall, the original 'owners' of the Hunting/Countryweek titles was 'St Martin's Magazines plc' - which was Julie Spencer and Lord Willoughby de Broke, and Lord Mancroft might have had a share too. St Martin's Magazines plc is now in administration.

Sounds like an interesting 'spin'!

Don't get me wrong - I hope they can make a go of it this time - but I can't see it myself. Too many people got stung!
