Beauty came in today with one red leg  I cleaned it up and found it was lots of little cuts, I think she got caught in the barbed wire. I hibi-scrubbed it and just covered it in vetwrap when I put her in the small paddock whilst I mucked out. Then I hibi-scrubbed it again and turned her out. Is that right?

Hi Yes, just keep the cuts clean if you have any wound dressing powder or purple (gentian) spray this will dry them up and heal them watch out for flys and make sure tetanus injecs are up to date, if not happy give your vet a ring, hope this helps:)

Unfortunatly her owner didn't feel it nessacairy to provide a first aid kit  Luckily I had bought some vetwrap and mediscrub anyway but I didn't have any wound powder or purple spray, I'll buy some tommorow

Lay off the purple spray-use vet powder instead. Purple spray covers any issues and makes it harder to see how the wound is progressing. Haven't used the stuff for years.

Sounds like you're doing the right thing. Just make sure you use very dilute hibi if your cleaning wounds as it will delay healing if it comes in contact with open wounds.

Also echo cinnamontoast - purple spray/wound powder are fairly useless, if you want to put something on it I would get some antibiotic spray from your vet (there are quite a few brands of tetracycline spray available) which will actually do something to reduce infection.
