I thought I would share my day with you as I am rather proud of my self and my wonderful mare nutty nuu nuu!
Today we did our first dressage test together but my first since being in a wheel chair and 2nd ever in my life!
those that know nutty, will know that 4 weeks ago she was so suppose to be pregnant and over due, infact she was having a laugh with us!
anyway back into work and we have been having so much fun!
I am in & out a wheel chair but for the last 8 yrs not been able to feel my left leg when riding & have limited mobility in the saddle
We went to coombe park today and did RDA test 6 (walk and trot)
Because I increase my riding this last few days practising for today, I ached loads and getting my self in the saddle was most amusing!
we went in in the arena and my head went blank, I wasn't nervous infact I was reather excited to be finally doing something on her, so anyway pulled my self together told the judge who I was and mentioned that I was infact a disabled rider, (I was told it was wise incase I fell off or blacked out)started the test, she was very ploddy but with no whip or left leg movement I had to put up with it.
she did a okay test my balance was a bit rough however I enjoyed every minute of it!
and to top it all I got 3rd, So chuffed
I was equally impressed with the set up at Coombe park
it's a lovely venue plenty of hard standing for parking, great burger van that makes the best bacon baps ever! indoor & out school.
I think I need to suggest they make a mounting block though!
They run dressage & show jumping every month, we will be going back to try again one day!
Photo's too!
