My mare (in pic by my name) has been off since June with ligament damage. She has now been declared ok and back into work for a few weeks now and i took her out sunday for a run at East Bysshe as they still have the show jumps up. Previously befor either injury she would
occasionally nap
Wouldnt go in water not even a puddle
But is a huge scopy SJ hannovarian and I love her lots.
Anyway there was an open day for a RC so i decided to do the Xc course first as a starter. anyway we jumper everything in sight (admitting the biggest was a hedge of 3ft 9") so nothing too scary but she took me round beautifully,no trying to go home early! Then there was the water so we though we would attempt the dreaded tiptoe through but oh no she ploughed straight in jumped the log double out! so we promptly turned and jumped the log double back in! never ever would she have done this before. So we tried the little drop in and again she did it.
To say i was amazed I then took her round a little course to finish with the water. Im sooooooo pleased as it means she can actually compete at a height she should be but in the past the 'water' has always been an issue.
I asked my YO when she swapped her?? even my husband was amazed
Ive had her 3 years and beleive me perserved so it shows it pays off
we had a half an hour break to get over the shock and then jumped a few SJ before home, the reason why I went in the first place!
