It’s an anti filming, but the anti does ask him if he’s all right and doesn’t hassle him. Apparently he’s from the Derwent hunt. Easy to jump to the conclusion that he’s overdone the drinkies at the meet and supping from his hip flask, but he might be unwell.

If he’s p1ssed, then someone needs to have a word with him. Whatever the cause of the rider’s indisposition that’s a confused horse, poor devil ☹️.

Did they both get home safely?

Yes, he could be having a medical episode. Why would he be on his own? I don't know anything about hunting but he looks like part of the hunt rather than a follower, so is it normal for someone to get separated?
 
Poor horse. I hope they both got home ok. Didnt look like a fall as clean clothing. At least the " Anti " asked if he was ok... Rider looked completely out of it.
 
Reading the comments, the antis called an ambulance and referred the call back to the Derwent Hunt huntsman - he who was recently caught via drone footage punching a sick horse to the floor.

The antis are uncertain as to whether the wobbly rider ever got his horse safely back to wherever he was heading.

Whatever the cause of the rider’s indisposition he was in no fit state to drive - let’s hope that he didn’t attempt to drive home.
 
I thought being drunk in charge of a horse in a public place/high way was still technically an offence - even if it's not by the way he's riding, regardless of whether it is imbibing too much or a medical problem he's at serious risk of an accident, I can't imagine just leaving someone like that.

Yes, I wish I hadn't gone down the rabbit hole onto the Facebook comments. I can totally understand expressions of concern for the horse, but the vitriol aimed at someone who, for whatever reason, is clearly in a very vulnerable state, is so saddening.

The vacant look on the rider's eyes as he stares into the camera at one point - that doesn't seem like a drunken state.

I am not going to look on Facebook purposely but I find it quite upsetting how people claim to be animal lovers can be so vitriolic towards a human (whether they like what they do or not!) who is quite clearly in some sort of distress.


reminds me a few years ago of when someone I know attended A&E alone in quite a rough area with slurred speech, pale skin, sweating.
They were ignored and told to wait as the reception staff thought they were drunk as they were incoherent.

They had sepsis. Very nearly died.

People are so quick to judge to align with their preconceived beliefs about a demographic! Had he not been on a horse and had a red coat on I think the reception may have been different.
 
The poor chap, he's obviously very confused and definitely can't rule out am medical episode. I hope he got treatment and is safe and well. Must have been so distressing for himself and the horse.
