If you got placed in one of these you may still qualify for the champs as they are filling up the places of people who can't make it.

Nah , I qualified for c2 and was 4th in d2. The lady phoned me up and asked me if i wanted to do d2 as well as someone had dropped out.

It's too far for me to travel and i can't get any time off the previous day so i declined and let someone else have my places

Good luck to u guys tho

Yeh I got placed, but not going as its far to far for us to travel up there!!! Was fine when it was at BCA as it was only 3 hours!!! But am not driving 5 hours to jump one round!!

Hattikins won a C1 & D1 but won't be going to final and neither will a friend of hers who did the same. I know they have had problems finding a venue for the final but putting it that far north in November on Friday and Saturday when lots of kids have their mock GCSEs and would need at least a day off school if not two, is excluding all except kids with the most dedicated partents who qualified south for the M4. I have actually written a polite note to the organisers to this effect.

We know plenty of people who are not now completing at Royal Leisure on Saturday because the final venue is impossibly far away. Such a pity as BCA would have been great or somewhere like Moreton Morrell would have been fairer. 3hrs being better than 5 1/2 hrs.

Is the final at Arena UK? I have not been involved in this series but Lincolnshire is at least heading North! Normally all championships are south meaning a lot of travelling from those of us in the North (i.e. British Championships at Gatcombe, Hartpury now for the dressage finals etc, Addington for JAS). I hope lots of northern competitors support the final and more events might head north. In Scotland we don't even have a JAS competition yet we pay full membership. Closest JAS to me is Osbaldeston which is 5 hours away!

I think the point is, that when we entered the original competition at £18 a class (with no prize money I will add!) we were under the impression that if we were to qualify then the finals were to be held at BCA, which is an ok distance for us to drive. However, moving the finals an extra 2 maybe more hours away means that those who have qualified feel disheartened and a bit annoyed at not actually being able to go to the finals. My best friend qualified on her horse and she's not had him a year, and was so chuffed she actually cried when she qualified, now she can't go she feels a bit annoyed!!

I'm entered at Royal Leisure this Saturday and now kind of wish I wasn't.

BCA would've been an OK journey to make but Arena UK is MILES!

Mind you, I might not get round yet so I'm being a bit ahead of myself I know!!!

When is the Champs anyway??

I was going to go and watch if it had been at BCA but won't now.

I feel it's always better to hold these things in the Midlands so that everyone has a reasonable journey to get there.

Yep BCA was on our doorstep, literally 20 mins away, we didnt realise venue had tried when travelling up to warks to try and qualify so was a bit of a giggle when we were told it was at Arena! - just got back from MHOYS in September didnt think we would be making that trip again this year.

Its pretty poor and there are loads of other venues locally they could have chosen, indeed, foot and mouth now doesnt hold any restrictions for BCA so could have had it there after all!

GRRRR

3.5 hour trip for us instead of 20 mins, 2 days off work, childminding by grandma, and extra expense, as was going to "nip" along and do our round.

They are holding an open topscore class before other ones....open to all so you get to do 2 rounds! lol!

Its Friday 23 November.
