I did, apart from Ron's appalling behaviour on friday (Dad has broken 2 teeth and cracked a filling and has a whopping black eye!:o) and yesterday (Ron got spoken to firmly and looked almost ashamed of himself:rolleyes:)...

got my garden tidied up for the winter, barring the roses which will have to wait until they finish flowering. Then took down the tomato plants, to discover about half a ton of green tomatoes that will need turning into chutney  Got the house half tidied, and OH washed both cars :D

then went and had a lovely ride in the sunshine. We got laughed at by tourists after I told Ron off for stopping to read a "road closed" sign, but then comedy value horse, and comedy value rider (well, who rides a fat cob in a close contact saddle with short boots and no chaps and no stick, nevermind no contact, no outline, at a houndjog and talking to them?!). Then got laughed at again by different tourists after he decided they were terrifying bush monsters and had to canter past them in a really exaggerated manner.:o

when I got back from the horses OH had cooked tea for me (well, fajitas) and we've spent the evening watching re-runs of river cottage :o

hope you had a good weekend?!

Sounds like you had a great weekend :)

I had a pretty good one as well, yesterday and today my friend let me ride her lovely cob Jack, this is inbetween lessons to get my confidence back, yesterday was good but today was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and felt it was almost a lesson as I learnt quite a bit.

A lovely takeaway on the way home and now on the pear cider - my idea of a good weekend.
Tomorrow is my first day off the horses in months - new arrangement with a friend, we now both get a day off each week - so my weekend just became 3 days :):):)

that sounds like a really good arrangement, and I bet it will be welcome in the depths of winter!

OH and I have a similar arrangement with my parents - Ron and my sister's horse are stabled at home, and as my sister is away at uni during term time the rentals do her share of the horses 3.5 days a week and OH and I do them the rest of the time. Means that I go up monday night, twice on tuesdays, then friday night, saturday and sunday. Works well for us anyway!

Yeah it is a good arrangement, and will be a welcomed break this winter.
I just wont be able to blame my horses now for my house being bombed out - will have plenty of time to tidy on Monday's lol x

We had a great weekend. Took one horse to a BS show on Saturday, daughter jumped 2 Amateur classes, double clear in both, won one & came 2nd in the other so were very pleased. On Sunday took other horse to different BS Show & jumped Newcomers clear in first round & then clear in jump off & came 3rd. Again we were very pleased & to top off the weekend we went to HOYS on Sunday night. It's been a good but very tiring weekend :)

Aw sounds like you had a fab weekend!

I had a fantastic weekend too. Was my birthday on Friday and so had a lovely meal at Loch Fyne with the other half, got spoilt with pressies and flowers and the sun was shining!

Saturday, went out for a meal with the stable girlies, had a good gossip and a few drinks.

Sunday - chilled

Bliss! :D

I had a very good weekend, bought the newest member of the family home yesterday, I went to an auction at Waverley Equestrain Centre a few weeks ago, one of the horses I was interested in had been kicked which meant I couldn't try her out before, so I didn't bid on her, she was unsold & the horses I went to bid on were out of my price range.
I spoke to her owner & have been back twice to try her, she ticks all the boxes apart from being chunky - she's a thoroughbred but hopefully she'll be just the ticket.
I had to drive through the centre of Leamington Spa with her yelling her head off in the back but she arrived calm & collected.
I've turned her out, she's very taken with our grazing & hasn't raised her head since she arrived!
I'm a mix of exited & panicked that I've done something stupid!

What a fab and very busy weekend! Well done to your daughter! :D

I had a hectic but enjoyable weekend! Work, dropping off lorry, going to a friends for wine and food, HOYS all day sunday with quick visits to the mare inbetween :D

weekend was ok - competed both days, nothing special score wise but second day managed to get the horse to relax and go on the bit, finally! but today went really poopy - horse was full of himself, cantering on the spot when asked to trot, throwing his head around, spooking at all sorts of stationary objects he'd seen 100 times before, so... very tired and just hoping it was a one off bad day for him since normally he's a darling :(
