last time the vet was out he saw that ria was lame on both left legs after flexions but got better when worked for a few minutes. i asked if it was fair to ride, he said yes.

hes been out again today and said that ree has got significantly worse and the answer to that question now would be very much the opposite :(

he kept saying 'im so sorry' and he hinted that he suspected arthritis (she's only just turned 5yo) so as you can imagine im not feeling my best!

he was however, wearing an australian type cowboy hat which kept an almost real smile on my face.

xrays next week :/

So sorry to hear this! Unfortunately sometimes you need to keep riding a horse for the problem to become severe enough to be diagnosed, but it's not a pleasant situation to be in. Hope the x-rays can at least tell you what is going on.

thats very true. i just want to know what it is now so that we can start treating it, i hate not knowing!
im just thankful that shes field sound and can stay out so that shes not bored cooked up in her stable in this hot weather!
i'll update when xrays have come through x

Sorry to hear this :( I love your mare. Fingers crossed for a good prognosis, and look forward to hearing the next update :)

Oh no poor Ria.
(((((((hugs)))))))) to you. The not knowing how to help is the worst thing of all isn't it. I hope you have some answers soon. You where both coming on so well together.
