Diesel costs

Ive got a trip of around 180miles, roughly how much money should i plan to save for diesel. I was thinking around £150 but not sure if it will cost me more. I have looked online but there are not really calculators.

That would depend on fuel price local to you and wherever you refill (if necessary) and the mpg your vehicle does.

What are you driving? Lorry? Car & trailer? 4x4? Hatchback? Engine size?

If I were to drive my 4x4 that distance, it would cost about £50-£60. If I was towing it would be more.

My 4x4 with trailer (2 horses) would use about 3/4 of a tank for a journey of that distance so around £50!

Sorry i wasnt very clear, its in a 7.5t lorry with one horse.

around £66 from my workings. My 7.5 ton and most i think average around 17 MPG. 180 miles at 17 mpg gives 10.58 gallons.round up to 11 to be safe. estimate at £6.00 per gallon to allow for price variations etc and gives £66.

Also plan where you are going to fill up - OH says Asdas are good, and Sainsburys not bad. I hadn't the time to go to Asda, but I filled at Sainsburys today at £131.9, Tescos in a more visible location was £134.9, which was why I drove on to Sainsburys!!!!

I think there's a website which lists fuel prices.
