This goes on at where my OH works. There is a haulage firm that store the lorry there and they were always having it done. Now they have CCTV amazingly it stopped!!

Fuel prices rising has an amazing ripple effect

all of the lorries (including mine) were targeted at my old yard in south Devon. Now I just put in what I am likely to use especially as the lorries were all parked behind the old barn and well out of sight.

We had ours stolen last year and with the price so high now it is really at risk ,if you make put a really good lock on they only cut the pipe further down and it cosrs you more to mend, you can't win. We try to leave it quite low now

A friend had their full tank of diesel stolen from Didcot as they nipped to macdonalds next door!!! Hence I never leave my lorry anywhere full including when its parked, its always got dribs in it!! Not healthy for lorry but cant afford to lose a tank!

If your concerned about your fuel, as you rightly should be!....
My 1st bit of advice is, never leave your vehicle with more than the minimum amount of fuel. Top up with what you need for your journey, and return with the minimum needed to get you back to a filling station when next using the vehicle.

2nd part of the advice......
Google or web search "Anti Siphon", there are numerous devices out on the market which fit into or onto the vehicle, quickly and easily.... these devices are available to fit all vehicles....and basically work in two ways
The 1st covers and secures the filler cap completely, making it as difficult as possible to tamper with your fuel.
The second...which I use... basically stops fuel from being withdrawn from the tank!!! The only way round it is to hole the fuel tank...and your basic thief won't do that!!
