Diesel theft from clients horsebox and attempted theft from own grain haulage lorry.

Parents farm / business includes horsebox maintenance, servicing , repairs, buying and selling etc and also run one grain lorry. Fuel was stolen from one clients horsebox and they attempted to prize off the locked fuel cap on the grain lorry.

This happened last night in a well lit secure yard with locked gates off a main road. We are now having CCTV installed.

Don’t know full full details as just had text from mum but wanted to warn people to maybe think of having sturdy locking fuel caps on their horseboxes/lorries.

This happened in Staffordshire area.

Don't bother with locking caps - will only cost you more in the end as they will just puncture the fuel tank and drain, then you are not only out of diesel but also a fuel tank.

I think it's been mentioned before but the best idea is to only have enough diesel to get you to the fuel station.
I know in the above case that would've been different as the lorry was in for servicing.
