My boy doesnt have ESPM as such, but his muscles feel quite hard and tense. I would like to feed him on a low starch and sugar diet, and he also has suspected ulcers

He goes a bit bonkers on alfalfa.

Any suggestions?

hmm, so you want to avoid alfa alfa and molasses:)) There are some nice chaffs on the market, for upsetable tummy I use NAF thrive. I have my chaff made to order by local company, no alfa alfa or molasses, I also feed unmolassed sugar beet and Spillers slow release cubes and Soya oil.

My horse is intolerant of alfalfa, sugar, high protein and garlic. I feed him Fast Fibre and Mollychaff. For ulcers, its important to make sure he is not left without food/hay for long periods of time. Thrive is also good for ulcers.

My mare has EPSM. I feed her winergy equilibrium growth. it is really low starch and sugar and the vit an min spec is perfect for those with muscle problems (high antioxidants) call thehelp line or email them, they are so helpful.
