hi all,
just wondered if anyone has any advice on dieting- my ponys getting too fat; i have ordered a muzzle and also thinking about soaking hay. just a bit worried that he will lose out on nutrients if i soak the hay as he doesn't have hard feed. any thoughts?

Im soaking Hay and feeding a powdered supplement. There are quite a, few to choose from. My mare is looking great on this.

Definitely soak hay. Buy a vitamin and mineral supplement that way you know exactly what he’s getting and you can feed soaked hay without worrying. Revise any hard feed- a lot of it’s fed unnecessarily and full of rubbish. As you’ve said try a muzzle or take him off the grass for a few hours a day.
