Difference between a fixed ring full cheek and loose ring?

What is the difference in action between a loose ring full cheek (fulmer) snaffle and a fixed ring full cheek, I assume it isn't the same as a loose ring snaffle as the loose ring isn't connected directly to the bit. My instructor is bringing one of the loose ring type over for me to try tonight and I was just curious.

Tongue and bars pressure.Loose ring does not apply so much but still works on the cheeks with a milder tounge and bar action.This will be different again if with a french link
