Difference between losenge and french link?

Hello,

Could anyone enlighten me as to the difference in action / effect of a french link versus a snaffle with a losenge in the middle? If I'm looking for a fulmer version for a young just-broken horse is there a difference between the 2 or is it more fashion / trend?

The french link puts more pressure on the horses tongue, so the lozange would probably be best in your situation.

Lozenge is meant to make a softer contact with the tongue. However my 5yo hated the lozenge with a passion but is more than happy in a bog standard french link. Guess you could maybe try both and see which he prefers?
