i was wondering what peoples views were on treating lymphangitis, when my horse had it i was advised to get him out of the stable and encourage him to move around.

i've since heard a couple of vets tell other owners to leave their horse on box rest until the swelling goes down.

so which one would you say is the better option and also why?

i know it's painful but surely if the horse isn't moving around then how can the swelling get better.

Keep the horse in regular (daily) exercise â" lymphangitis most often affects animals that are not in active work or are experiencing a period of rest

Quoted above from HH website. I was of the understanding exercise was best.
