Different colour hair suddenly appeared

I have a mouse dun highland who at 21 is white. Tonight i noticed he has developed a circle of dark brown hair up high on his neck. It looks a bit swollen but it isnt broken skin just looks like the brown fur underneath is coming thriugh. He is going through coat change. At present it is the size of a ten pence piece. Any ideas?

Both glands are up as well. This is where the hair is different colour. On the gland. It is swollen and pushing the dark hair underneath outwards.

I'm not sure I understand the question - it seems that the hair colour is unimportant compared to the other health concerns.

What are your horse's temperature, pulse and respiration rates? Is s/he eating, drinking, pooing and behaving normally? Is s/he sound?

If you aren't certain about the normal signs of health perhaps get the vet to check, run bloods? Horses' glands can swell with flushes in grass growth as we are experiencing now, but swollen glands can also be symptomatic of various diseases.

Without further information, we can't help you very much.
