different insurance question

i currently have a horse insured but when i tried to reduce insurance they charging the same amount per month, i went on line and found insurance requirements from another firm and they are quoting over £40 a month less,
now i know the quote is correct and covers what i need, my question is this:

will my insurance which i use now charge me a premium to go elswhere?

It prtobably depends on when your policy runs out. If you wait until the end of your policy and then change no. If you change part of the way through then probably yes.

i only had it 2 months but have told insurers that i do not need actual cover (long story which they are aware off), they know i do not nee level of cover but cannot reduce it? whereas pp who i have always had before can reduce by over £40 per month for same policy? i think there is something wrong somewhere!
