Hey all!

Do you remember i was asking about help with beau and diggin up etc? well he is still doin it, and at first it focussed on the one pot, so moved it, used deterents etc... tried all things suggested.
However he has now decided the other pots will do, and when mum n I went out this evening for an hour (dad was still home with him, and they get on well! noramlly......) beau dug all the dirt from the ground either side of the gate up.........
the last one i can kind of understand why....... but the pots i just dont get!!!!!!!!!

ARGH any help now? pleasE?

I'm not sure I have much constructive advice to be honest.... just wondering, has your mum used fertilizer on them? Like manure or blood fish and bone? Maybe they smell yummy....?

My only suggestion would be to take it in turns to watch him like a hawk, and tell him off like the world is ending every time he does it.

Our little monster has taken to stealing bread (of all things!) from around the kitchen and she's only doing it less because we've been going apesh*t when we catch her doing it! Thats the problem though, I'm told you have to catch them in the act, you can't yell after cos they don't understand.

You've probably already tried this but I just wanted to offer some advice. xxxx

thanks guys, no i am constantly trying to catch him! unfortunatly, hes not stupid (all the time) so he does it when we are not quite focussed on him (how the hell he knows that is totally beyond me!)

Han and hen, no mum doesnt use fertiliser, actually my mum is a pretty cr*p gardener! she just uses the weather to water the plants (which isnt a problem at the moment!) and thats about it! (prob why we havnt got the worlds most spectacular garden)

Someone mentioned maybe buying a sandbox or something and letting him dig in that......... im not sure if this will work, does anyone have any experience of trying this?

Maybe you could borrow a friends sandpit or something? They're really expensive to buy is the only reason I've mentioned it.

Maybe direct him to somewhere he can dig and bury treats there or something?

Poor you! xxx

Ooh, yes, Popple likes to bury bones/pigs ears

And then dig them up a month later and hide them in my bed...

ha! Sweep must come and teach beau how to behave then please!?

and if you seem to not get him back, but seem to have a skinny mental black thing running round totally hell bent on ignoring EVERYTHING you say? (then crashing and looking really cute so you have to forgive! (damn dog!) ) then it TOTALLY is sweep just in beaus body..............

hehe

I think im gonna buy some chicken wire or something to put over the top of the potted plants by the door to just stop him digging those

and the bits round the gate....... im a bit stumped...... as flamehead said the sandpits are expensive, but tesco had some on sale for like a tenner or something so I may have a nosey at that (also if it gets hot, could be filled with water for a paddle as its plastic! MULTI PURPOSE!

)

we are lessening on the digging front, but i darent say stop as I can guarantee I will be gynxed!!!
for example, went on a walk avec the mother! (mine not beaus!) and in the park there are loads of rabbits every SINGLE time we have been beau has totally ignored them whether sat still or running away.
Mum was like.... ahh be careful there are rabbits! Me: "O no beaus never bothered hes really good about it!" (cue fate going HAHA SCREW U!)
beau picks up rabbit scent and goes like hte clappers!!!!
cue me going ****!!!!!!!!!!! COME HERE ****!!!!!!!!!! (add your own words!:) )
he did come back fairly quickly, just had to put up with mum for the rest of the evening going: o but hes soooo good about X and wont bother about Y, o no look HE ISNT!!!
