It was very warm this morning and i brough my girlie in (shes in at day, out by night) and her pulses were rather pounding...

shes not footsore, her hooves were a tad warm but they are warm anyway as its hot and she's in a winter coat (hasnt shed it yet- was clipped today) she turned perfectly and was forward going... should i be worried?

Ive only had her two months so i dont yet know what her 'normals' are?

From this and your previous post about the signs of LGL, I'm guessing this is something you are particularly worried about. Does the horse have a history of lammi? Does she have rings on her hooves? Have you had a horse with this problem before?

On its own I wouldn't get too paranoid about a raised digital pulse if the horse is normal in every other way, but your post makes me think there is some background.

I would get some Magnesium Oxide (you can also use CalMag but MagOx is kinder on the stomach). It helps counteract LGL and you can up the dose if your horse has raised pulses. This would obviously be a Band-Aid on a broken leg in a case of full blown lammi, I'm only talking about mild symptoms here.

Maybe worth contacting the Laminitis Clinic with your concerns:

Are they even in each leg? So same amount of pulse all round? My horse routinely has visible digital pulses on hot days, but they are even all round. I queried with the vet who said some horses are like that, and it is uneveness which should be looked for (i.e one leg showing a more pronounced pulse than another). I'd not come across this before, so was v worried, but he's been fine for the past 3 summers and have never had an issue with it.

I just kept a close eye on him, trotted up a lot and looked for signs of lameness/discomfort. Now I know what is normal for him, so am less bothered by it!

you said she has not shed her winter coat that is strange for this time have you had her checked for curly coat or cushings?
