OH here <g> Jacq faces a moral dilema of grand proportions and she needs 'sensible' advice of the masses. I went up to the yard with her tonight and was shown the foals <yawns> but one stood out from the crowd. With no promting from OH I suggested said foal might be a sound purchase. Knowing her desire to do dressage and knowing that George is ...... well George. My untrained non horsie eye see's something in this foal and potential there in...
We've discussed expense/time/her age(blank look) and we're stuck now.
I am all for it .... Jacq is concerned about the money side of it.
As a foot note - All the assistance and experiance required to bring on said foal is readily available.

Bear in mind that in order to be ready to do even low level dressage, you will be looking at 5 or 6 years. A lot can change in that time, and is that time too long to wait? Would the money invested in livery costs etc over those years be better spent on a horse that could be ridden now. Just another opinion on it

If it were me I would probably be saying get the foal.......

Its me now. I'm not bothered about the length of time before I can do anything with the filly, I am quite happy about that. My biggest worry is the money side of things. 2 lots of everything. We could afford it and still be better off than we were 12 months ago. But having been in the situation of always scrimping and saving I suppose I am a little reluctant at spending any money!
OH is all for it. I can't beleive I'm being so sensible. If I had my own place this post would'nt have been written, she would have already been mine!
