I love long boots. Short boots & chaps always annoy me as it takes so long to get them on and they don't give you the same level of support as a pair of decent long boots.
just every day. So gotta be comfy enough to do the yard in and then jump on and ride in or vice versa. thats why i've always gone for short boots and chaps
Haven't voted because I like them both equally, depending on what I'm doing.
Winter riding/wet weather - long riding style Muck Boots for warmth and dry feet.
General hacking and schooling - short boots and half chaps.
Going somewhere posh/smart (but not a competition) - Mountain Horse High Riders (long).
Long Cavello leather boots for very best.
Short boots for yard work.
And if course if you still can't decide which boots to buy, OP, then my decision would be stronlgy influenced by what was available on special offer (as a bargain is so much more satisfying than paying the full whack!)
Long boots every time. I have cavallo's for jumping and The Anky Petries for dressage and schooling at home. I do have some ariats but they're about to go in the bin as i'v worn them like wellies and the foot has ripped in several places (both of them).
I only ever wear short boots with full length chaps when I'm driving to a show - but thats just me
I voted for short boots and half chaps as thats what I have. Find I get quite a lot of support from them. Having said that I've never had any long boots so can't really compare.
If I start showing I was thinking of getting some leather gaiters to go with my boots as they are so comfortable and money is also a consideration. Unfortunately
