Dilemma

Hi i need some advice I've been looking for a horse for months now, and have been offered 2! the first is a 16'3 9 years old sports horse and a 16hh trotter 5 years old, both very underweight, but no health problems. im umming and arring i have the room and the turnout but the grass is very rich shin length. I have little history on them, all i know is that the trotter is broken, but green. im not the most confident rider, but knowledgeable friend is willing to help, what do you think its worth giving them a chance?

It depends what you want to do with them. Are they for loan or to buy? If you're not that experienced I'd go for the more experienced horse - you may still need help anyway if you've never had your own. Its often quite different.

I've always owned my own, had a break to have children, im now older and i hope wiser lol but my heart strings are pulling, these 2 sound really sweet in temperament, i would only ever hack or maybe the local show with the right horse. They are to buy really cheap as the lady brought them off the neglected owner as she couldn't afford them, and the lady thought she could find better homes hence this thread x

I would go for the sports horse. Hate to say it but don't rely on the friend too much because if she suddenly finds that she doesn't have time or whatever then you are left high and dry. go for the one that will be the easiest.
