Dipped beam lights

Hi all sorry if this is wrong tread im new here. I have a ford cargo 0813 mot do soon. My problem is when i switch on lights i have side lights and main beam but no dipped beam ive changed bulbs ive checked fuses and even swopped switch but still no lights. Has anyone come across this before or know wat could be wrong thank u
 
OH says could it be a relay? Apparently, they can sometimes stick. Tapping it can sometimes release it if that’s the problem. Apparently, they’re in the fuse box.
 
Sounds like a relay. Easy enough to check, if you have other functions that use either the same one, or same type. Check the operators manual to see what each relay does.
 
Ive looked in the book and ìt shows there are no relays in fuse box for lights only indicators and spares i have 4 relays and 3 meant to be spares
 
Could be a short or a bad earth somewhere. I had main beam come on on my car and not go off. I took the fuse out and the stayed on, too the relay out and they stayed on, ended up disconnecting the bulbs. Turned out I had a few broken wires in the loom where they had rubbed against a hose clip and were shorting out. You might have similar caused by rodent damage if your lorry has been standing for a while.
 
I believe it could even be the wrong bulb... I am no expert but changed a bulb in a car, looked like a simple job... once I changed the bulb whenever I used the foot break the head lights flashed. No idea how it happened, but it was a works vehicle and so I faulted it. Next week was a notice that no employees were to change light bulbs! Ooops. I put a Vauxhall headlight bulb into a Peaugeot, and despite the fact it seemed to fit it did not go well!

The 0813 have very poor lights and not much different between dip and side, I ended up putting spot lights on mine as going down dark lanes I could not seen the road ahead. I would get mechanic to check the relay and also the bulbs
