Did anyone else notice that a lot of the English riders had dirty boots (on the riders not the horse) at Olympia in the Show Jumping. Was it just last night, or is it a trend. Seemed a pity since the horses were all immaculate - perhaps the riders need a groom as well as the horse??

And ... wasn't the 'Flying Frenchman' amazing!

Haven't seen any coverage myself unfortunately but I think it is really bad for competitors at any level to turn up with muddy boots. Maybe they have to walk through a manky car park or something to get to the warm up area but you would have thought they could change into their competition boots when they are just about to get on the horse. Sounds a tad unprofessional to me!

I did notice on one rider, as they turned away from the camera I thought they looked filthy!! Assumed it was the lighting and thought no more of it, will look more carefully next time!!
