hi i recently posted a thread about what to use to get the stains of my coloured yearligs legs. i was just wondering if any one had tried white hair spray dye for humans? (the stuff you spray on wash off).i really only want to use it on his feathers as even though he only 1 he actually has quite alot of hair on his legs. its our first show sunday and i have tried chalk and stain remover for horses and whitener shampoos but on some parts you can still see the yellow showing through quite bad at the bottom of the feathers.:(
has anyone tried the above method if so did it work or did it hurt you horse?

I use tresemme deep defence we went from this:-

To this:-

1st wash - hot water and fairy
2nd wash - tresume deep cleansing and blue powder

If they still are not clean, then arial stain remover - do patch test first and then use neat but avoid getting right on the skin. Leave 5 minutes, rinse and then use plenty of conditoner as it dries the hair out.

Use plenty of pig oil and sulphur during the wet months to stop hair getting stained, kills mites and protects the hair from bog burn. In summer, I use just sulphur to keep hair white and kill mites.

You then go from:

This is Stinky as a two year old.

On the day, you can also dust the legs with talc or chalk but avoid the thick pastes as these cause the hair to go flat, ditto the white sprays.

Finally don't panic if the legs are not perfect, the judge takes a lot more into consideration that the whitest legs when choosing the winner.
