She's Parson Russell, aged 4 and has been spayed since 6 months. She has had a couple of urine infections lately and once again she has a mucky, sticky vulva and is weeing frequently. Her vulva seems to be set quite deeply and the gook is sort of embedded round the sides, it's difficult to remove even with baby wipes. The only info I've found is a recessed vulva and varying comments regarding treatment including surgery!

Any information would be gratefully received before we go to the vets who are brilliant but a bit over keen on surgical intervention as a first response.

Googling b***ch with dirty vulva was not my best idea!

My brother's bitch had a very hard to shift UTI, in the end I think the vets grew a culture and it needed specific ABs to treast it. It took ages.
A healthy bitch should not have an oozy wan!! (I am not obsessed - sorry, OP, but comments from another thread)!

Quick update, she has an infection and I have asked for a culture. (Thanks for info Clodagh, it gave me something positive to relay to vet, also for tea splutter! due to last sentance. :-) ) Apparently little dog has rather small bits, can just be how she's made or it can happen if females are spayed early. Never heard that before though.

Well hopefully she can soon be better now.
Brother's bitch was not spayed but vet did advise not to so until it had cleared up.
