blimey my horse was so covered in mud i had to actually give up grooming and hose pipe it all off. we are not talking a bit of mud here - i actually see her roll in a huge puddley area of the field every morning - she even puts her head under the water! Hopefully the cold hosepipe will teach her not to do it again! (even though shes in a full rug with neck!) - shall post some pics of it as is quite unbelievable! anyone else have this issue!

The mare I sold this year was a real water baby. Didn't matter what time of year she would get in the river/puddle/pond what ever she could find and then splash with her front legs. then roll. This meant in the winter it went up under her rug!
The picture is the first time OH went to do her on his own. He had just learnt to ride and I was away so he went to do her and was going to go for a short hack. I told him he had to at least brush off any mud before he rode. It was the middle of summer and I honestly don't know where she found the mud. He took this picture on his phone and sent it to me. In the end he didn't get time to ride, but kept the picture on his phone to remind him.
Also attched is picture of splashing in the sea. If they work first time loading pics!

Here is my mud monster, luckily not grey, but she has far too many of her mother's traits for my liking, one of which was her habit resulting in the nickname 'Hippopottamus'.

Bunty, 1 year old, and we are on sndy soil, we just don't do mud. Whatever would she be like on clay!
