I have a five year old mare who constantly has a very dirty bum! Her droppings are loose and she is very dirty in the stable. She is fed cool mix and haylege but has previously been fed hay and was still the same. She is in very good condition apart from this, good coat etc
Just wondering if you have heard of any supplements etc that I could introduce to help her.
Thanks in advance!

Funny you should say that! I just bought some yesterday for her so she has only really started it today. Just wondering if I was on the right lines!

may be an allergy, a pony at the yard is allergic to the sugar in grass and that gives him a runny tummy has, had plenty of fibre such as hay and hifi and restricted grazing and is doing well...

My mare is intollerant to sugar and grass (literally makes her go liquid). She is now just fed Hay, Alfa A Oil & Spillers Sugar Free mix, she also has very restricted grazing. She was still sligthly loose on this, so now feed her Aloe Vera Gel and her droppings are almost normal (took me 6 yrs to find a supplement that helped her!!!).

She had been on Alfa A Oil but stopped eating it! would just walk away from her feed pot and eat her hay!
Will give the Aloe Vera gel a go!
Thanks!
