Went to Hickstead today as I had a day off work,and I have to say I was very disappointed, hardly any decent trade stands to browse, and badly behaved children ruining our enjoyment of the jumping in the International arena (although I didn't see one badly behaved dog this year!!) . Some of the riding in the outer rings was superb - the rest diabolical, with people taking out their own shortcomings on their horses, and the showing left me cold - bullock fat, overproduced M&M's do nothing for me. It was not a patch on previous years, the reccession doesn't help of course, with many big companies pulling out. No wonder the BBC aren't interested!!
Still, I now know not to waste my time or fuel again - that has done it for me now as far as this venue is concerned. Still, after that rant I did get a nice cooler at a bargain price, so all wasn't lost!!

I must have been fortunate for my seats in main arena. Agree some outer ring behavior was v bad, from v young children as well as adults!
