has any one placed orders with dicount equestrian and had problems. have been waiting a month for an order, first out of stock now last two phone calls telling me its on its way but never arrives ! getting a tad fed up now. any ideas on how to get them moving :mad:
 
I have ordered a body protector from them about a week a go, at the time of ordering the body protectors were supposed to be in stock, got an email today saying that I have to wait until the 30th before they get any in. Am trying to just cancel my order, beats all the hassle.
 
should they be taking payment without giving you the goods first? i dont use them but regularly use derby house and they dont take payment until goods are despatched x
 
Any updates please?? Did anyone get their goods or money back??

I placed an order over 2 weeks ago - they took the money straight away, informed me goods would take about a week. I have rung and left messages and sent emails - no reply at all!

BEWARE - if you are thinking of placing an order with this company!!!!!!
 
Yes ordered a rug and never received it. Got all sorts of excuses, but basically they don't carry the rug in stock (even though site made it sound like they did!). For whatever reason after a month the rug still wasn't in so i kicked up a stink and demanded a refund NOW!

I am on the phone / writing to Trading Standards tomorrow. I would not mind if I had received something in writing - email would be sufficient - stating they have collected the money from me and an estimated date of delivery - but I have not had any sort of reply!!
 
Haven't used them for years, but I hear a lot of stories like this, now. I always order from The Saddlery Shop, these days, as they send out the same day, 9/10 times. Ordered some stuff on Tuesday and it came yesterday, so still impressed!
 
Oh no! I've put two orders in some weeks ago and they've taken the money for both and other than a confirmation that they've received the order I've had nothing! I've emailed and called several times but never get a response! Yikes :( I paid via Paypal so am going to get onto them and ask for my money back. :(

Yes I did. I had them on the phone. She tried to give the "the woman who does refunds isn't in today line" and I said if you have the card machine in front of you and can take money off, you can put money on! I basically refused to go and she put it through.

Now I think of it, I also got the it's on the way to you and it never arrive line. then the next time I rang they admitted it still wasn't in stock!! Caught out!
 
Amazing... I created a complaint in the Paypal resolution centre which goes direct to the seller and within less than 5 minutes I've received credits for my two purchases! But get this... Discount Equestrian have actually charged me for cancelling the order!!!!!

A lucky escape I think but the more people that know not to use these people the better IMO.

Good luck to everyone else in dispute with them. Makes sense to pay through Paypal I've learned...:)
 
Actually, scrub that. I've received automated emails from Discount Equestrian saying they're crediting me, whether I receive the actual money is another matter!!! :(

Charging you for that is actually against the Distance Selling Regulations Act. Alot of companies try and state a X% handling and restocking charge will be applied but if you argue the point they can't legally enforce it.
 
I have just been stung by them too! After waiting a month for an item and constant chasing with no response to emails and no refund or item...AVOID AVOID AVOID!
