Has anyone seen this before?? Please see attached video, horse has been under veterinary since June was lame on offside rear with no clinical signs then these lumps came up on the inside of his hock on near side rear, needless to say he's very sore.....Ive had X-rays and scans done and non conclusive, yesterday the swellings were scanned again then drained (yellow clear sticky fluid possibly joint fluid came out, approx 30mls has been sent away for lab report), and filled with steroids but within hours the swellings were back to same size then I noticed this bizarre movement on his hock when he moves...

Am waiting on vet phoning me back.... have sent him video http://youtu.be/0HOQSAmJCXo but think I'd be better banging my head off brick wall???

Have to start with a disclaimer - take your own vets advice please.
Its hard to tell from the video but yes it looks possible like a SDF displacement. The fluid etc may be from annular ligament rupture which goes hand in hand. However, an SDF displacement is usually easily confirmed with an ultrasound to show the tendon is not where it should be, so if you've already had an ultrasound of that area you may need a rescan or else your vet is confident it simply isn't an SDF displacement?

Best of luck
