Disposing of old body protectors

Have replaced the families body protectors recently due to the age of the old ones, bit of a strange question really but should you just put the old ones in the rubbish bin or is there a "green " way to dispose of them?

Just put mine in the bin - don't think there is any other way.

mines just gathering dust in the tack room as I didnt know what to do with it either!

When I replaced mine recently I took out the foam pieces to cut up to use as 'crocks'. I put them in the bottom of any plants I repot in the garden, they help with drainage and don't weigh as much as stones. That leaves you with the fabric shell, I've kept that as I might want the velcro at some point but I expect that could go in for recycling.

If you are going to put it in the bin, remember to 'mutilate' it in some way so that it can't be picked up and used by someone.
