Well, I wrote a big long post and lost it, but they say a picture speaks a 1000 words.

I said on more than one occasion my horse will never, ever jump ditches. And I've fallen in a fair few along the way!

August 2011...not interested at all, no way!

Resorted to this.

Fell off in it in the competition 2 weeks later. Ouch.

April 2012...still need a lead from the floor!

Fell in another one in competition in May 2012, so got permission to build one at home. I went over this every single time we hacked! Then it rained for 6 months.

This year he seems to have almost got over himself! We've jumped the 2 big ones at Twesledown, but this picture sums it up from schooling today!

Love my little hairy horse, when he's good, he's fantastic, when he's not we work hard to get it together. My moto, never give up trying, just learn to to it better. :D

:D Awesome! Well done, love your homemade ditch, such a good idea! Convincing horses ditches are safe can be a monumental challenge- it took Reg 2 years to really not be ditchy so Al could know she wouldn't need to ride very strongly to get him over them! Now, he's completely blase and couldn't care less, like your boy :)

Aww well done! I think I'd need to see a horse go over it a good few times either in hand or with some other brave person to believe we would jump them!
