Hi All

I hope someone can help me!

I am looking for DIY/Assisted DIY livery yards in the Maidenhead & area (10 miles around Maidenhead). Needs to have all year round turnout preferably in small herds (accident prone horse!), all weather floodlit arena, decent hacking (don't mind road work but need a couple of decent bridlepaths to have a blast on!), and generally just a friendly, helpful yard. I dont mind if it is a big competition yard or small private yard. If an yone can recommend any please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

I think there's 2 or 3 places to the West of Maidenhead advertising on the noticeboard in Countrywide at Twyford. However that was a couple of weeks ago I last looked on there, so may not still be available. Think one was with facilities as you describe near Wargrave, but wasn't really paying attention (half heartedly looking for daughters next pony as she's beginning to look too tall for the 11.2 she's riding)

The yard i am on has vacancies new stables and school, full set of show jumps and people are all friendly we are just outside of bourne end. Turn out is all small herds and is well managed. Pm me if you want more details.

Ive just moved from there

The ones I know of are Cannon Court, Lea Barn, Wayside (thats nearer Fifield towards Windsor) and there is another just up the road from my yard that has an indoor but for the life of me I cant remember what it is.

Ill text my friend and ask for you as they are at my yard do but has been on a couple of others.

There are also a couple in Marlow/Bourne End which is a five/ten min drive from MH towards the M40 or if you head towards Holyport (Windsor way) there are several there too. Having said that there are other yards towards Reading as well.

As someone has already mentiond CW in Twyford has loads of yards advertised in the area.

Thanks for this - are there any I should avoid? PM me to keep from upsetting everyone! If you could find out where has the indoor that would be fab. Also do you know what lakeside livery is like? Why did you move yards???

Lea Barn that Nuttymanxmare mentioned is actually Lee Farm in Pinkneys Green. I used to be there until about 4 years ago when I moved to my own place. It's got quite large over the last few years (40 odd stables) but wasn't a bad place at all. No indoor school, but an outdoor arena. Hall Place vets have recently moved their premises to there, so there's literally a vet on site. Hacking from there is excellent.

Cannon Court Farm also has excellent hacking, as does Woodlands Farm in Cookham Dean - which from memory also has an indoor school.

Then there's White Place Farm on the Cookham Road just north of Maidenhead, Moor Farm, Cresswells Farm and another one whose name I can't remember in Holyport, and Glennifer in Hawthorn Hill.

Then there's Rosehill out Hurley way, which is a regular competition venue, and Bockmer, just west of Marlow.

The place in Bourne End that someone mentioned above is probably Hollands Farm. It's only about 1/2 mile across a field from where I live - quiet and very basic, and apparently very friendly - okay for pleasure riders, but hacking in Bourne End is pretty awful unless you like loads of roadwork to get anywhere (hence I don't keep mine within such easy reach of home).

I think the one in Wargrave that Dubsie mentioned might be Gibstroude.

There's more, but I can't think at the moment (but can you tell that I lived a long time in Maidenhead when I was younger?)
