Has anyone had a go at making their own exercise sheet I'm not to bad with the old sewing machine and I've found the right fabric much cheaper than buying new?
Just wondering what sort of shape everyone rates so I can make up a pattern.

I've thought about doing this myself, and planned to just use an old exercise sheet that fits well as a pattern. Can I ask where you sourced your fabric from? I was thinking about something bright and funky/unique/can be seen when we're lost on the moors

I made a quarter sheet.
I bought a 2nd hand pony sized wool show rug (I’m sure you could use and old fleece too), put it on my horse and marked round the back of the saddle with some chalk.
I unpicked and saved the binding from the bit I had cut off and used it as ties to attach the quarter sheet to the girth straps.
It was much easier than starting from scratch, all I had to do was essentially cut off the front half and re-hem the edges.
Velcro attachments to the girth straps would have been neater but I couldn’t be bothered with trying to sew velcro.
