Hi all,
Am moving to swansea in September, so naturally am trying to find somewhere for my boy to live before sorting out somewhere for myself! Hoping to move him to the mumbles/gower area, have looked into the bigger places like Pilton moor/tankey lake/Crickton (would appreciate any positive/negative feedback on these) but wondered if anyone knows of any places a bit closer to mumbles or south gower coast? Ideally within about 8 miles of mumbles, good hacking and traditional style stables are my main priorities! Finding it hard to find out about the smaller places that don't have websites etc. Any help or info is massively appreciated :)

I go to Pilton Moor a couple of weekends a year and really like it. The riding from there is amazing. Nice outdoor school, well maintained fields, secure storage etc. Have always found Jo and Martin to be very helpful and accommodating too. Only down side that I can think of is you do get quite a lot of horsey B&B customers there so that might be a bit disruptive.
I've only ever heard good things about Tankey Lake from friends in the area too.

When I was at uni there used to be somewhere on the road past Clyne Common out towards Bishopston (near the old people's home) that was nearly 20 years ago though! Can't remember the name of the place sorry but might be worth a drive out that way? It's a pleasant drive if nothing else! Pennard and Parkmill also seemed to be quite horsey areas too and are a bit closer to Mumbles. Clyne Farm is a trekking centre not far from Mumbles. I doubt they do livery but it might be worth asking them if they know of anywhere near them.
